Artistry in Wood 2024

Call For Entries

35th Annual Show at the Museum of Sonoma County 

December 6, 2024 through February 2, 2025

Since 1978 the Sonoma County Woodworkers Association has presented an annual exhibit showcasing member’s creativity to the public. Beginning in 1989, the Sonoma County Museum (now known as the Museum of Sonoma County) has partnered with the SCWA in providing the venue for the exhibit. Artistry in Wood has become an annual favorite, attracting numerous individuals interested in fine woodwork.

Artistry in Wood 2024: Show Schedule 

  • Online entries open November 1, 2024. In person entry on Tuesday, November 26th.
  • Drop-off Day: Tuesday, November 26th. Entries will be received at the museum between 9AM and 5PM.
  • Show duration:  December 6, 2024 through February 2, 2025.
  • Monthly Association Meeting and awards presentation with the Judges: Tuesday, December 3rd, 7PM.
  • Exhibit Opening Night: Friday, December 6th (time tba)


Entry Information 

  • You must be a member of SCWA to enter the show.  Please join the SCWA by Entry Drop-off day, November 26, 2024.
  • If you are not yet a member of the Sonoma County Woodworkers Assn :   click here to apply 
  • Artistry in Wood is a juried Show. Entries will be juried by the SCWA Guild in accordance with the Jury Guidelines published in the Entry Form. All entries should be within the scope and spirit of fine woodworking. 
  • Entries will be judged for awards by an independent panel of judges. Entries are accepted in the following five  categories: Furniture, Turning, Art, Small Boxes, and new for this year, Miscellany and CNC creations.
  • There is a new effort by the Museum to raise money to cover the costs of the exhibit. They request that if a piece in the show is for sale and is actually purchased by a museum visitor during the show, that the artist will make a voluntary donation of 15% of the sale back to the museum. The museum will actively promote and encourage sales. Please note that this is voluntary and is not an exhibit requirement for the artist.
